Open day with complementary workshops.
We see this opportunity to teach our existing members new techniques that we have learnt on training courses throughout the year, and invite new potential members to come and see what Fit Guru has to offer.

The Itinerary for the complementary workshops is as follows;

Ladies Only Group Training Session:
This session gives you a taster into a package that we offer at Fit Guru Gym, ran by our excellent ‘in-house’ Personal Trainer Charlotte Latham.
The package includes Female only small group personal training, which runs 3 times per week over a 5 week period, with weekly body assessments. The package provides nutrition support with food diaries and shopping lists, allowing you to follow one of 2 diet options, either weight-loss or toning.
The package helps you to lose unwanted fat/weight/inches, and it helps to boost confidence, by providing psychological support and ultimately helping you to sustain a new healthy lifestyle.
It’s a perfect opportunity to stay motivated and have fun with like-minded individuals, at the end of the 5 week package there is a little black dress evening out to celebrate your new found body and confidence!
This package is offered at ONLY £150 for 5 weeks or £300 for 10 weeks
M.E.L.T Fit (Mobility / Stretch Workshop)
This Complementary Workshop is led by our Chartered Physiotherapist Laura Jeffrey.
The aim of this session is to highlight the importance of mobilising, stretching and recovery time, especially when you Train and lift heavy things regularly.
The first 15 minutes of the workshop will involve partnered assisted stretching. Stretching on your own is effective, but assisted stretches provide added benefits, allowing for deeper stretches, longer holds and positions that would be difficult to reach on your own.
The next 15 minutes will involve teaching self-mobilisation techniques to apply direct release to tight structures, these are safe self-treatment techniques which prepare you for strenuous activity.
Then the Physio will demonstrate the effectiveness of the ‘Voodoo band’ to help improve range of movement, restore joint mechanics, or unglue matted down or previously injured tissue. The technique involves Compression tack and flossing with the voodoo band, and it works on many levels; including re-perfusing tissues that have become stiff or gone cold after injury, and by compressing swelling out of tissues and joints. Because the Voodoo band can be used while actually performing the movement the athlete is trying to change, its effect on sliding surface and restoration and tissue mobilization is brilliant.
And the final 15 minutes will involve a demonstration of kinesiology taping and how it aids muscular and joint stability without restricting the body’s range of motion, and how Acupuncture can also help if the pain is the result of a tight muscle or some tissue between muscles sticking together (ie. a fascial adhesion). In this case, a needle directly into the trigger point or place of adhesion can resolve the problem.
‘Flex Fit’ Hypertrophy Training:
Nat will provide a Hypertrophy Class called ‘Flex Fit’, isolating specific muscle groups and super-setting compound moves.
Hypertrophy-Specific Training (HST) is a method of strength training intended to induce the fastest muscle growth, or hypertrophy, possible, without losing efficacy over an extended period of time.
Think dumbbell routines to smash your shoulders, curls to pump your guns, squats to hammer your quads, & deadlifts to maximise your Glutes… ‘Flex Fit’ is sure to be a killer!
Strongman training is about true functional strength, it’s about lifting heavy, awkward objects (like those you encounter in life) and getting them from A to B. Whether that it is from the ground to overhead, or from one end of the room to the other. Strongman is about getting you strong to a degree that you never thought possible. All primal movements are covered pushing, pulling, lunging, squatting, bending, twisting & walking with load.
Almost any strongman exercise is going to make your pulse hammer! Because so much muscle is working at one time, your body’s demand for oxygen is extreme. You’ll get a cardio session in while training your muscles.
Think weighted carries, atlas stone lifts, sled drags, tyre flips and pushing pick-up trucks! … Think STRONG!
